Here we have the reluctant sale of my Springer Narrow Boat. This Springer was built in 1978 in 6mm steel with a 4mm cabin top. This boat has never been welded or plated and has never needed it. The hull in is good condition both inside and out. In summer 2006 she was out of the water and coated with two coats of vinniguard followed by three coats of bitumen black. Six new anodes were also fitted. The inside of the hull (below the floor) although in good condition, was coated with red-oxide followed by bitumen black for good measure.

The boat is powered by a lister SR3 inboard diesel. The engine starts first time every time even on the coldest winter days. Battery charging is no problem even at low speed as additional gearing has been fitted to the alternator drive system.

A 50 gallon water tank at the bow feeds the galley and bathroom sinks as well as the shower, all with hot and cold water. A new powerful water pump was fitted in 2006. Hot water is by a Paloma instant heat gas water heater providing hot water on demand without wasting space with bulky tanks. Two propane gas bottles sit in the neat gas locker at the stern. Cabin heating is by the Gem solid fuel stove sensibly positioned mid way along the boat.

The galley is fitted with a Plastimo Neptune 2000 marine cooker comprising of twin ring burners, grill and oven. A microwave sits below, next to a large fridge with freezer compartment. Large storage cupboards are below the work surface.

The boat is equipped with both 12 volt and 240 volt electrical systems with a 1,500w inverter to provide the 240v supply when away from shore power. A full set of navigation lights have recently been fitted for cruising after dark. Two spotlights are also fitted at the bow.

A double bed is situated at the bow. We usually leave this in situ to form a permanent double but it can be folded away should you require additional space.

Although the interior is perfectly functional it could do with some updating.

Included in the sale is an A4 box file full of receipts, paperwork and photographs.
